“Here we go, singing those songs with our soul”

One of the things I am working on at the moment for NEIS is a competitor analysis. As part of this I’ve been looking at how accessible websites are marketed.

Strangely the top 10 Google hits for “Accessible Web Design Melbourne” returns web design companies who don’t have a standards-compliant website. What’s going on here?

Only two of the web design companies from my search talk about web accessibility and why they think it’s important. Does this mean that web accessibility is

a. not a concern for businesses contracting web design services
b. something that web designers can’t be bothered with
c. something that businesses don’t know about
d. what is web accessibility anyways?
