where we get our own back on technology
we bought a new computer online from de11, arriving Monday. i feel a little sad it’s not a brand-new mac but uni work and work work at home works better on a pc. and they’re cheaper (although fragile little poppets). i could tell you specs and dimensions but i don’t really care that much as long as it goes. for at least a couple of years.
the house alarm system was apparently just reseting itself, and that three hour process was completed so now we can live with our eardrums intact again. i hate the alarm. the landlords installed it while they were living here. everytime you set it and leave the house you have 60 seconds of ticking to get out the door. about 10 seconds to go and you realise: a. you don’t know where your keys are b. there is a random pet inside just waiting to set off the sensors c. if someone broke in the alarm would just go off and off and off and noone would do anything anyway. also, the alarm is a bit random and sometimes it just doesn’t accept your pin and you stand there furiously retyping the pin while it screeches and the light outside flashes. it’s a nice way to arrive at home.
the car is fixed. the person at home with the baby now is not literally at home with the baby 24-7, or stuck within a 5km radius of our house with the stroller. bless the mechanics of this world, even if they do have questionable opinions about the intellect of the female gender.
i have many more complaints and whingeing because that is what i do. but i’ll spare you and those who sail with you.
