50 things for 2008
1. Get a scooter not going to happen anymore. sorry me.
2. Get motorcycle licencenope
3. Read everything on the reading list
4. Spend a weekend in Trentham
5. Run in the Mother’s Day Classic (once around the Tan non-stop, downhill, not updhill)
6. Get rid of the Barinaalmost.
7. Enter a short story writing competition
8. Go to Tuesday meditation at work at least once a month
9. Save $100 a week
10. No more reality TV. Not even Australian Idol. Life is too short.
11. Get a massage.
12. Go to swimming lessons with Drew once a week
13. Get new glasseslibrarian or uber geek chic? you decide.
14. Negotiate less than a five day week at work
15. Start a herb garden (again, for the 70th time. this time keep it alive)
16. Reduce the amount of internet time to one hour per day (excepting school work time.)
17. Ride the bike to work at least once a week
18. Get a new cat. Just kidding.
19. Get a new dog. Not kidding.
20. Have Christmas day at our place.
21. Go to Broulee at the end of the year.
22. Keep up to date with the uni reading and listening to lectures.
23. Learn to cope with the 6am starts. I think the only way to do this is to go to bed earlier. Ugh.
24. Upgrade our crazy computer system setup. What a mess.
25. Take down the fireleaf design website. Kiss the ship goodbye.
26. Withdraw my Big Brother application.
27. Cook shortbread.
28. Stop cooking risottos. Has the family not suffered enough.
29. Be added to Drew’s birth certificate as a parent.
30. Go to one big concert.
31. Get a cork that fits Drew’s bum.
32. See at least five films in a cinema, not on DVD.
34. Buy a digital SLR camera. second hand digital slr from a guy at work who’s upgrading his setup. woot!
35. Go to one festival event. Can be anything. Must be at a festival. Preferably free. Maybe some nice street theatre.
36. Go see a puppet play.
37. Create a strategy to sit the three uni exams this year without completely freaking out. Not sure how to do this one.Sort of sorted. Thankyou special consideration and history of anxiety problem.
38. Run at least twice a week. This point should probably be before the run in a fun-run point.
39. Buy a piece of original art.
40. Frame the piece of artwork that Eilis bought me for my birthday.
41. Buy a pair of shoes that aren’t Converse.
42. Buy a pair of jeans that aren’t terrible.thankyou ebay
43. Cancel my emusic subscription.
44. Write a letter to the paper.
45. Figure out a better system for our DVD, Video and TV player, which may include accepting that the digital box has died and needs replacing.new box = abc. hooray!
46. Do tax return before October.
47. Buy some new bras.
48. Decorate a cake for Drew’s first birthday. Maybe a spaceship.thankyou women’s weekly birthday cake book circa 1978
49. Stop reading those kid-related blogs that give me the shits. Nobody reading this is included in that category.
50. Have a summer BBQ.
Some of these are very difficult to quantify but I will give it a go.
